Happy 2012! How are everyone’s New Year resolutions coming? How many of you vowed to eat healthier this year? If so, that is a good start since the CDC reports one third of Americans are obese, and 17% of children ages 2-19 are also obese.  Quiet a staggering statistic, one of which has been on the rise since 1985 and shows no sign of stopping. So, what can we do?

As Gandhi famously said “Be the change you want to see in the world.”  As obesity is attributed to poor eating habits and physical inactivity, GSNENY has an upcoming program which combats both. Year of the Girl series & run is a 10 week program, focusing on training for 2.5 mile run & other  topics such as: nutrition, self-esteem, and healthy media images. The series concludes on Sunday April 29th, 2012 with the Year of the Girl run in downtown Troy.

The best part? Each session piece is only half hour long! Make 2012 your and your girl’s healthiest year yet. Embrace the power of you by putting your best foot forward and join us! Still not convinced you have the time to commit to this program in your busy schedule? Well please consider this: 23 & 1/2 Hours
