ALBANY, NY (05/22/2014)(readMedia)– On Sunday, May 18, 2014, 14 girls received the highest honor from Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York, the Girl Scout Gold Award. Open only to girls in high school, this prestigious award challenges girls to change the world-or at least their corner of it-and be eligible for college scholarships, too. By the time a Girl Scout puts the final touches on her seven-step project, she will have solved a community problem-not only in the short term, but for years into the future.
