Girls from our council celebrated with a project to support Healthy Living for girls and women in our communities with filling our van with health and beauty products! Girl Scouts reached out to family, friends, and neighbors to collect as many health and beauty items they could. They gathered with other Girl Scouts from their areas to pack the van to the brim! These events were held at all of our Service Centers!

Here are some photos from these events. The photo album is located here.

One of the places that the products the girls collected for is the Franklin Community Center, and we just received a Thank You letter back from them! Shown below is the letter received from the Franklin Community Center’s Executive Director, Kari Cushing.

“Dear Girl Scouts of NENY,

Thank you so much for your recent donation of personal care products to Franklin Community Center. It has always been our mission to ensure all of our resources go directly into programming and help those we serve. In an effort to enhance our fiscal responsibility, we are utilizing “e-thank you’s” to cut postage costs at our agency.

On behalf of our staff, Board of Directors and those we serve, we truly appreciate your generosity. In our current economic climate, more and more community members are relying on our services to help make ends meet. Your donation of these essential items means so much to the Center.  Please know that your donation will be used to supply hygiene bags to our Project Lift participants and their families.  In 2011 the Center was proud to serve more than 3,000 individuals in and around Saratoga County; with your help, we are hoping to ensure that we are able to continue to meet the increased demand for our programs in the coming year.

As always, thank you for thinking of us. Together, we are making a difference.

Warm regards,

Kari Cushing
Executive Director”

  1. Our Girl Scouts continue to amaze! With over 1500 girls participating in this effort, filling 6 vans with toiletries for more than 30 organizations, who would deny that Girl Scouts are making Northeastern New York a better place! Congratulations, Girl Scouts!
