The Times Union has a fantastic article about a nine year old Clifton Park Girl Scout, Olivia, who is collecting items to be delivered to Staten Island tomorrow. Olivia was inspired to start collecting items when she found out that one of the areas hit by Superstorm Sandy, was the home of her aunt and cousin who lost power for about a week.

Olivia and her mom got together and came up with the idea to collect items and to send down to help the victims of Sandy. ”I do a lot of stuff in the Girl Scouts,” Olivia said. “It’s fun to help people.”

  1. My daughter is a first year Daisy. She helped me collect for the NYC victims this week as well. Sad that there has to be terrible situations, but great learning experiences for the young girls! We are looking forward to helping others on Monday November 11 at the Fill a Van event. Nice Job Olivia!
